In recent times, artificial intelligence (AI) has revolutionised our activities and entertainment, enabling nearly anyone to code, produce artwork, and even engage in financial ventures. For both experts and non-experts, generative AI tools like ChatGPT provide advanced features to generate high-quality content based on a user's straightforward input.

It can be quite overwhelming to stay updated on the latest AI tools, especially with Microsoft's introduction of Copilot (formerly known as GPT-4) in Bing, OpenAI enhancing ChatGPT, and Google integrating Bard into their system and calling it Gemini.

1. Testing ChatGPT vs. Microsoft Copilot.

You should use ChatGPT if...

• You want to try the most popular AI chatbot. OpenAI developed ChatGPT and made it available for a broad preview in November 2022. Since its release, this AI chatbot has amassed over 100 million users, and the website itself attracts a staggering 1.8 billion monthly visitors. It has sparked controversies due to its ability to assist with academic tasks and potentially replace certain job roles. Though ChatGPT has proven itself as a valuable AI tool, it can be prone to misinformation.
• You're willing to pay extra for an upgrade. OpenAI offers free access to ChatGPT, which is powered by the GPT-3.5 model, for users who have a registered account. However, those who are willing to pay for the Plus version can enjoy additional features and access GPT-4 for a monthly fee of £20.

You should use Microsoft Copilot if...

• You want more up-to-date information. Unlike the free edition of ChatGPT, which is restricted to functioning solely as an AI tool that produces conversational text containing information up until early 2022, Copilot can utilise the internet to provide more up-to-date information, accompanied by clickable sources. 
• How to use Copilot (formerly called Bing Chat). Additionally, there are other advantages to using Copilot. It utilises OpenAI's LLM, GPT-4, and is available for free. However, there is a restriction of five replies per conversation and a maximum input limit of 2,000 characters per prompt. While Copilot's interface may not be as intuitive as ChatGPT's, it remains user-friendly and simple to navigate. While Bing Chat has the advantage of being able to search the internet for more current information, I have noticed that it tends to be slower in responding and occasionally overlooks prompts compared to its rival.
• You prefer more visual features. Microsoft has enhanced Copilot, previously known as Bing Chat, by incorporating visual elements into its platform. As a result, you can now inquire about specific topics, and receive a comprehensive information card in return. This card includes images and details. This enhanced feature provides a more concise and visually appealing way to absorb information, as opposed to overwhelming paragraphs of text. When utilising Copilot, you have the option to request image creation as well. Simply provide Copilot with a description of your desired image, and the chatbot will generate four options for you to select from. 
• How to use Image Creator from Microsoft Designer (formerly Bing Image Creator). Microsoft Copilot offers various conversational styles for interacting with the chatbot, such as Creative, Balanced, and Precise, which determine the level of casualness or directness in the conversations. Now, let's shift our focus to Google's Gemini, previously named Bard, which utilises a distinct LLM and has undergone significant improvements in recent months.

2. Comparing ChatGPT and Copilot: A Practical Analysis.
